The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has begun to encourage Nigerians to use there NIMC Mobile App that was newly launched to obtain the National Identification card or use in place of the physical ID card.

NIMC disclose that the App is very easy to operate, and also got some adequate features but it requires that anyone using the app must have gotten a National Identification Number (NIN) to be able to access NIMC Mobile App.

Meanwhile, according to NIMC FG has Lift Ban on SIM Replacement, meaning you are permitted by the Nigeria Communications Commission(NCC) to link up to 7 devices with Nigerian- registered mobile numbers to your NIN (Mobile phones for now).

How To Get Your APP And Start Using It

1. First of all download the App through Google Play store if you make use of an Android phone or through Apple App store if you use I phone.

2. When the App is installed on your phone, go to the bottom left and click on Skip

3. But in your 11- digit NIN number and press Next, then later I Agree.

4. The mobile number you use when registering your NIN will pop up together with two questions;

i. I am still using this Mobile Number

ii. I no longer use this Mobile number

Click on the one which applies best to you and press Next.

6. But if you ain't using the mobile number again, you need to visit any NIMC office to update your mobile number so that you can continue with the process.

5. If you are still using the same mobile number, then enter the User ID and OTP that would be sent to your phone through SMS and then press Proceed.
