PROPHET TB JOSHUA REVIEW HIS ENCOUNTER WITH PRESIDENT YAR'ADUA.

How I Made Phone Call With Late President Yar’adua – Prophet TB Joshua

Founder, Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet T.B Joshua has revealed what transpired between him and late President Umaru Yar’Adua some years ago when the former president called him.

Joshua, in a post on his verified Facebook wall said Yar’Adua called him to say he would honour him with the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

MY PHONE CALL WITH PRESIDENT YAR’ADUA – PROPHET TB JOSHUA

“If not the condemnation and persecution, do you think I would be at the level I am today? I know the value of my trials. The value is so great; they have made the whole world to know me. It’s a free advert. You can see there is no signpost or signboard of The SCOAN since the beginning of this church. You are my advert; you are my signpost. The question people used to ask me – why is there no advert or signboard? You cannot find it anywhere. Why? Because God has blessed me with free adverts.

It takes the spirit of foolishness to hear something without going there to confirm. Everyone that God destined to be a leader, when they hear something – it may take time – but they will find a way to confirm what they hear. In the process of confirmation, they find out the truth. This ministry has been here for the past twenty years. If there is anyone out there who says he’s a man of wisdom and understanding and still not confirmed – it means something is wrong. Your confirmation brought you here. You are not just here; it’s what you heard in the past. In the process of confirming your information, you found yourself here. So, the free advert is so gracious. It’s a big blessing to me.

It was this free advert that brought about Emmanuel TV. I was on the Nigerian national television and local television. When the miracles were showing, because of me, your former President said they should remove the miracles. They stopped miracle programmes on your national and local television. The body that guides the television stations in Nigeria enacted a law that no miracle pastor should be shown. It was because of me, not because of anybody else. That brought about Emmanuel TV!

Let me tell you about the phone call I had with late President Yar’Adua. He is a great man. I received a phone call – ‘I will give you an honour, OFR’. This is a man who did not share the same faith with me – he is a Muslim man. People are unaware of this because I don’t put it on my name. When you see TB Joshua, you will not see OFR. I said I am honouring my nation – so I sent my wife to receive the award.

Sometimes when you are saying, ‘Northerner, Southerner, Easterner’ – the issue is not that. LOVE. Nigeria is one. This is a man from the Northern Part of Nigeria; he is a real Muslim man. We have never met; he never invited me for prayer. But he got to know and monitor all that is happening at The SCOAN. I could remember he said to me – after looking at the analysis of pilgrimage to this country from each port of entry in Nigeria – he realised I am the biggest source that attracts foreigners. This is the first time you are hearing this from me. Your oil could not attract such visitors – but anointing attracts visitors.

You talk of North, you talk of South, you talk of Christians, you talk of religious people, you talk of Muslims – LOVE is the greatest. Where is love? The Bible says love your neighbour as yourself. Your neighbour could be your enemy, could be a pagan, a religious man or a Muslim – the Bible says love them all! Love is the greatest. It means love is greater than everything you practice. The name of Jesus is LOVE.

Is it Muslims condemning me? Are they the ones speaking against me? Are they the ones saying you should not come here? Where there is love, you will come to me and I will go to you. You want to know what I am doing and I want to know what you are doing. Love permits us to do findings. That is the characteristic of love. Find out the truth and the truth will set you free!”

HOW OBASANJO PREVENTED TINUBU FROM BECOMING BUHARI'S RUNNING MATE IN 2015.

How Obasanjo Prevented Tinubu From Becoming Buhari’s Running Mate In 2015 – Olagunsoye Oyinlola

By Eziafa - January 31, 2021

A new revelation has shown how Obasanjo prevented Tinubu from becoming Buhari’s running mate in 2015.

Former Governor of Osun state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola has spoken about how former President Olusegun Obasanjo stopped former Governor of Lagos state and national chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu from being President Buhari’s running mate in 2015.

Oyinlola who spoke in an interview with Punch, said the idea of a Muslim-Muslim ticket was concealed from party leaders until Buhari became APC’s presidential candidate in 2014.

The former Governor said Obasanjo spoke against it even though President Buhari defended it on grounds of governing with Tunde Idiagbon as Military head of state.

He added that Obasanjo cautioned that the sensibilities of Nigerians should not be taken for granted.

Below is what Oyinlola said:

“The agreement was concealed from a good number of the party leaders until it surfaced after Buhari had got the ticket.

“Then the rumour came out and some us felt danger was looming with the idea of Muslim-Muslim ticket. To further add to our fears, General Buhari on one occasion said there was nothing wrong in the Muslim-Muslim presidential arrangement, saying after all he governed with Tunde Idiagbon

“That statement made us to know it (the Muslim-Muslim idea) was a fact. On two occasions, Bola (Tinubu) mentioned it in my presence that they agreed. If you recall one trending video back then, where it was said that Buhari had jettisoned what they agreed on, that is the room he was sleeping when Buhari was looking for the post.

“We then told Baba (Obasanjo). We told him that taking power from an incumbent government was a tough task and we must not give room for excuses and miss the target. We told him they (Buhari and Tinubu) were thinking of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“That was when Baba (Obasanjo) said people should not take the sensibilities of Nigerians for granted.

“After that (Obasanjo’s intervention), they started saying it in my presence that Obasanjo frustrated the plan to get Tinubu on the ticket for 2015 but I always acted as if I didn’t hear them. We then had a stakeholders meeting where the issue of the running mate was discussed again.”

JUST IN: BOKO HARAM LEADER, SHEKAU REASTS TO NEW SERVICE CHIEFS APPOINTMENT.

Just In: Boko Haram leader, Shekau reacts to appointment of Nigeria's new service chiefs

Following the appointment of new Security Chiefs, factional leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has released a new audio, condemning the appointment.

He said the newly appointed Security Chiefs cannot do better than their predecessors did in the fight against insurgency.

According to HumAngle, Shekau in the nine minutes audio, said he heard about the retirement of the previous service chiefs and their replacement with new ones but that his message was to call them to Islam.

In the new audio, Shekau mentioned the names and the roles of the new service chiefs and called them to repent because they can’t do anything to destroy his terror gang.

“Leo Irabor, the head of the military, you should have sympathy for yourself, repent and convert to Islam. There is nothing you can do,” Shekau said.

He said Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru should not ”deceive” himself because he has a Muslim background.

“Even if you are Muslim but you conduct polytheistic practices, you are no longer a Muslim,” Shekau said.

A source familiar with the activities of Boko Haram told HumAngle that members of the group are likely to conduct major operations to send a message to the new service chiefs that they are ready to fight.

On Tuesday January 26, President Buhari replaced the former Service chiefs with new ones. Major-General Leo Irabor was appointed the Chief of Defence Staff and head of the military while Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru was appointed the new Chief of Army Staff. Rear Admiral A.Z. Gambo became the Chief of Naval Staff, and Air-Vice Marshal I.O. Amao is the new Chief of Air Staff.

TRANSPARENCY CORRUPTION INDEX: NIGERIA DROPS TO SECOND MOST CORRUPT COUNTRY.

Nigeria drops on Transparency’s corruption index, now second most corrupt in W’Africa.

Nigeria has dropped to 149 on Transparency International’s 2020 Corruption Perception Index, the worst ranking received by Africa’s largest country in recent time. Nigeria also scored 25 out of a possible 100 points.

In the last TI rating in 2019, Nigeria was ranked 146th out of the 180 countries surveyed, scoring 26 points out of a possible 100. On a scale of zero to 100 in TI’s rating, zero means “Highly Corrupt,” while 100 stands for “Very Clean”.

This means that Nigeria is two steps worse off than she was in 2018 when she scored 27 points to place 144th out of 180 countries. The summation is simply that corruption in the country has worsened.

According to the latest ranking, Nigeria is now the second most corrupt country in West Africa with Guinea-Bissau the only country more corrupt than Nigeria in the sub-region.

In Africa, only 12 countries are perceived to be more corrupt than Nigeria. They are Zimbabwe, Chad, Eritrea, Burundi, Congo, Guinea Bissau, Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan, Somalia and South Sudan. Both Somalia and South Sudan were ranked as the most corrupt nations on earth.

The least corrupt countries in the world are Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Singapore, Sweden Switzerland, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg.

The United Kingdom, Canada and Hong Kong were all ranked at 11 while the United States received one of its lowest ever rankings at 25.

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, came into power with the promise of curbing corruption which has been plaguing Nigeria for decades.

However, Nigeria’s ranking on the corruption perception index has continued to drop in the last four years.

On Wednesday, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, said the President’s anti-corruption war had lost steam, adding that the rate of convictions was very low.

The President had in July removed the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, amid allegations of corruption. Magu was the face of Buhari’s anti-graft war.

Transparency International said the interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic gave room for corruption to thrive in countries with weak systems.

It said even countries like The Netherlands which are highly ranked as upright, failed to reveal details of contracts awarded to persons supplying COVID-19 equipment.

TI said former American President, Donald Trump, failed to properly oversight COVID-19 spending.

The report read, “Finally, the unique challenges wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic have tested high-scoring countries’ commitment to transparency and integrity in their own public sectors as never before.

“When the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project created a database of how public money was spent on Personal Protective Equipment at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, in several countries they found a black box. Belgium (76/100), Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway did not publish details of contracts awarded, even withholding information on prices and the names of companies in some cases.

“In the US, the previous administration’s challenges to oversight of the unprecedented COVID-19 relief package raised serious anti-corruption concerns and marked a significant retreat from longstanding democratic norms promoting accountable government.

“Now, as we look hopefully ahead to 2021 as a year of widespread vaccinations and treatments, it is vital that there is transparency and accountability in how governments, especially in wealthy nations, acquire and distribute life-saving resources.”

SERVICE CHIEFS APPOINTMENT: 45 SENIOR MILITARY OFFICERS SUBMIT RETIREMENT LETTERS.

Service Chiefs Appointment: 45 Senior Military Officers Submit Retirement Letters

Over 45 senior officers from the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force have put in their retirement letters from service, following the appointment of their juniors and course mates as service chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari, VAM News gathered.

Most of the officers, who have put in their retirement letters, are said to be in the ranks of Major-Generals and Brigadier-Generals and members of Regular Course 33-35 from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).

It was gathered that those who put in their retirement letters addressed it to the former service chiefs.

The Service, which has the highest number of officers going on retirement is the Army with over 25, followed by the Navy, which has over 13 and the Air Force, which has less than 10 officers.

It was, however, gathered that Lt-General Lamidi Adeosun, might have been tipped for a United Nations job, which is supposed to begin sometime in March this year.

The reason for the retirement of the senior officers might not be unconnected with the appointment of new Service Chiefs, VAM News learnt that their  retirements are, however, at the discretion of the Service Chiefs some of whom may want to still retain them in service.

A retired Service Chief said: “The issue of retirement is our tradition in the military. You know, most times officers pay compliments to their seniors they surpassed their ranks. Now that Course 35 has been made the Chief, it is possible that there are some Course 33 and 34 that are still Brigadier-Generals.

"It could happen and you will see the Major Generals paying compliments to his senior because once he is your senior, he continues to be your senior for life. Even those who retire as colonels, Major Generals would see them and pay them compliments and they continue in retirement. So, it’s a tradition. So far it has continued.

“But I know that few senior officers said they are willing to continue since the officers are going to be promoted above the rank so they are going to be senior to all those their senior and mates.”

OPERATIVES OF AMOKETUN INTERCEPTED A TRUCK LOAD OF SUSPECTED HERDMEN WITH GUNS IN OYO STATE.

Oyo State Unrest: As Operatives of Amotekun Intercepted a Truck Loaded with Arms.

The unrest in Oyo state took a different turn on Tuesday when operatives of the Oyo State chapter of the Western Nigeria Security Network, more commonly known as Amotekun, intercepted a truck loaded with gunmen suspected to be herdsmen heading to Igangan community in the recently troubled Ibarapa area of the state.

The truck, with registration number TUR30ZY, is registered with Kebbi State and the Amotekun officials found 25 guns and 10 dogs in the truck alongside the suspects.

It was gathered that the suspects have since been handed over to the police authorities in Ido for more profiling.

“The Oyo State Amotekun, Ido unit led by Gbenga Olanrewaju made the arrest. They are suspected herdsmen in possession of about 25 dane guns and 10 dogs. They have been handed over to the police for further interrogation,” an official said.

There has been unrest in Igangan in Ibarapa recently due to worsening insecurity - kidnappings and killings.

This escalated when a pan-Oduduwa nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, more popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued an ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen, believed to be behind the insecurity, to vacate the state.

Igboho himself on Sunday narrated how some criminals fired bullets at him at the Seriki Fulani of Igangan, Saliu Abdulkadir's place in Ibarapa but that they did not harm him.

Last Friday, irate youths had also attacked the Seriki Fulani, after violence erupted in Igangan, Ibarapa, in the Fulani community, during which the houses and property of the Seriki Fulani, Abdulkadir, were burnt.

Abdulkadir had told reporters that he, his wives and children were sent out of the settlement, adding that 11 vehicles and houses were burnt in the process.

The Seriki had thereafter fled the community with his family, as aggrieved youths put fire to the settlement.

Igboho had ordered that the killer herdsmen ravaging the South-West should leave.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, had also visited the community, saying that Igboho’s visit truncated the “relative peace and calmness” being enjoyed in the Igangan community.

Onadeko had vowed to bring the masterminds of the attack on the Fulani community in Igangan to justice, reiterating that the security agencies would not watch while some criminal elements take the law into their own hands.

She had also promised that the arson and the breach of the peace which occurred at Igangan would be investigated to a logical conclusion.

HEAVY GUNFIRE IN ABUJA AS SHI'ITES AND POLICE CLASH.

Gunfire In Abuja As Shi’ites And Police Clash

There was gunfire in the federal capital territory (FCT) on Tuesday as members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) clashed with police officers.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Aguiyi Ironsi street, Maitama where Transcorp Hilton is located.

The IMN members marched from the National Human Rights Commission on the same street, and were on the road leading to Hilton when the brush happened.

The protesters better known as Shi’ites are demanding the release of Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, their leader.

El-Zakzaky has been in detention since December 2015 after Shi’ites and soldiers clashed in Zaria, Kaduna state.

The authorities have refused to release him despite a court order.

On Tuesday, a court in Kaduna ordered the prison authorities in the state to release the IMN leader and Zeenat, his wife, for COVID-19 treatment.

BUHARI DEFENDING FULANI HERDSMEN AGAINST NIGERIA INTEREST -FALANA

Buhari defending Fulani herdsmen against Nigeria interest – Falana

Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says the eviction notice given to Fulani herdsmen in Ondo state by governor Rotimi Akeredolu is not out of place.

The governor said the evacuation order was prompted by reports linking the herdsmen to the heightened insecurity in the state, adding that the herdsmen use the forest as hideout to commit all manner of atrocities.

The order was greeted with stiff opposition from the presidency with Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, saying the governor has no power to oust the herdsmen from ondo forest as such action violates the freedom of movement enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.

Reacting to Akeredolu’s directive, Falana, who spoke on Sunday while featuring on “The Platform”, a Television Continental (TVC) programme, implored the Nigerian government to stop giving preferential treatment to Fulanis.

Falana said the forestry reserve law in the state requires mandatory registration for those who want to carry out operations there.

The human rights advocate said the federal government has been selective in the application and implementation of laws that have to do with the defense of Nigerians rights.

He said the federal government is always vocal when it comes to standing up for Fulani herdsmen but are indifferent to the plight of thousands of poor, destitute beggars that pervade the country.

“There is nothing strange whether you are talking of Benue or Ekiti state or whatever. The federal government has come in to defend herders, whether anti-grazing law or whatever. At the same time, the federal government does not defend the poor, the beggars, the destitute and others who are forcefully arrested and deported to their states of origin,” he said.

“The federal government does not bother because they belong to the flotsam and jetsam of the society. So, that is why people are wondering.”

He opined that the federal government has put itself in position that make people now see it as defender of herders “and it is not very good.”

Falana, however, averred that the right thing for Miyetti Allah association in Ondo to have done was to meet with the governor and registered its members so that they can continue with their cattle rearing business in the state.

“That shouldn’t have attracted any controversy. What one would have expected the Miyetti Allah group in Ondo state to do is to ensure that all their members are registered; no more no less,” he said.

Falana also implored the presidency and the Ondo government to ensure that the conflict between herders and farmers does not spiral out of control.

“I think that the federal government and the Ondo state government should ensure that this matter does not get out of hand, once the impression is being given that the state government is deporting herders,” he said.

“While the federal government portraying itself as the defender of herders is not very good, the federal government must defend all Nigerians, and at the same time also ensure that the laws of the country are complied with.”
